About Our FounderAs a former Reading Interventionist, certified teacher, US Patent owner, school testing coordinator and parent of children with complex disabilities, I've advocated on every side of the IEP table — an educator, an innovator, and a mom.I know the delicate balance that it takes to advocate for your child's needs while validating their experiences, and fostering the partnerships with school professionals.Invention is born out of necessity. Seeing there was a gap in manipulatives for our diverse population of language learners, I created one. My US Patent is a multisensory, tactile educational tool and physical curriculum framework designed to guide children of all ages, students with a Specific Learning Disability (SLD) such as Dyslexia/Dysgraphia, and English Language Learners (ELL) through the process of handwriting and letter formation.Navigating 9 duty stations across 8 states, as a proud military spouse, I know first hand that no matter where you are, the work of advocating for your child's education doesn't pause.Adapted Advocacy LLC was founded so no family has to walk into a meeting without a solid plan.
